Getting ready to cut the cord and plan to replace my HDHomerun Prime Cablecard units with a Connect Quattro so I can record 4 OTA channels at once.
I have a question that hopefully someone who already has this can answer: Does the Connect Quattro show the signal strength for the channels it finds? I presume this would be in the Windows HDHomerun app, which I've already downloaded and installed; but it doesn't show anything right now except that it can't find a Homerun device (since I haven't bought it yet

).
With the HDHomerun Primes I was using, you could look at the device webpage and see the signal strength and signal quality for any tuned channels. Just curious if the Connect Quattro shows this info as well.

Not in the App. To use HDHomeRun with WMC, you need to install the drivers for Windows and included in that package is a program 'hdhomerun_config_gui.exe' which will show signal strength along with signal and symbol quality.

Yes. I have two Primes and a Quattro 4K, and the app show signal strength on all of them.

And by the app I mean the config GUI. There is also an Andriod app to show signal strength, although it is not an SD offical app.

I will add, there is a hdhomerun user that developed a pretty cool tray application that gives status on all HDHomeRun tuners (and DVR) in near real-time.
https://github.com/djp952/hdhomeruntray
I haven't seen it mentioned in this forum, so a lot of folks might not know of it. I find it quite useful and handy.

Greetings everyone
To garyan2 - I went to the link provided for the tray app - which looks to be a nice thing to have - but apparently it is only for folks that can build the app from VS - frankly it's been years since I worked in VS and back in the day it often locked my machine if everything was not 'perfect'.
Is it common for folks here to build the components? Is there free additions of everything needed to build these apps?
Thanks in advance.
Jan
