I think $20 for the app is the sweetspot, though honestly I'd pay more for it, especially if we do eventually see some Music/Pictures integration and streaming support (all of which on their roadmap according to Motz). IMO, I think Ceton would be short changing themselves in the sub $5 category - but won't complain if that's the case

Well, I'll just say that I'd be willing to pay maybe $20.00 for the software on the PC, plus maybe another $2 or $3 for each phone app. Any more than that, and I'd have to do some serious thinking.

Since the Echo includes CEC I wouldn't think twice about it. I'd love nothing more than to throw out every infared remote control I own. I just like leveraging the IP network in the house for as much as I can. I love my little Revo's but if they had CEC I would love them that much more.

If they made a client app for PC's (in addition to phones and tablets) that was remote-control friendly, and it included the ability to watch copy-protected content in full-screen (ie. SoftSled), I'd be willing to pay more for it too.

Any updates for using the Ceton Companion Server on Windows 8? Earlier references in this thread refer to a Windows 8 app, not the Server. Unless I am mistaken there is an issue with the .NET implementation in Windows 8. Any idea as to whether the Ceton Companion will be working with Windows 8 by the official Win 8 launch? I was part of the Android beta but upgraded to Windows 8 shortly after the beta started so was unable to participate after I upgraded. Now I am trying to decided what to do going forward. I like Windows 8 on my HTPC quite a lot (yeah, yeah call me crazy, but I do like it), but there are quite a few MC add-ons that just won't work. I will probably stick with Win 8 if it is likely that Ceton Companion will be working by the official launch. If it is unlikely to be working in October I may switch back to Windows 7 until (If) the issues are resolved. Any insight is appreciated.

I have a little interest in that aside from needing to watch copy protected content. That could change of course since the 1geek guys won't be updating the DVBLink client for the HDPVR.
