Win7 March system update killed WMC/mce

Users: Read
Interactive: Read

at first blush this looks like what I want to see. I'll reboot the system and see if that helps.

Under advanced permissions, you should also see Interactive have permissions for Set Value and Create Subkey. The update should have restored those. Without them, you will see the symptoms detailed in this thread.

I was able to get WMC back by uninstalling 2022-03 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB5011564). Then opting for me to choose which updates to install. Don't have a resolution beyond not installing that update

I just installed July's Monthly Rollup for Windows 7 x 64 (KB5028240) and WMC is still working. Timed recordings start, play and end correctly, and EPG123 still updates.

Oh? How did you do that? That updates is only intended for 7 Embedded and Server 2008 R2.
