Hey everybody,
I've been using WMC7 for about a year now and have been pretty happy with it. I was previously using SageTV which I loved spending all my free time for the last 5 years maintaining it. After getting an HDHomerun Prime however, I was forced to finally give MC a run (and Google helped me give up on Sage completely). I miss alot of the features of Sage, but WMC has definitely been vastly more reliable. I will never use any other tuner other than cablecard.
I used to use the HD200 extender for Sage and it was the best thing since sliced bread. So...I will be jumping on the Ceton WMC extender ASAP if they ever sucessfully release it. The headless server/extender configuration is definitely the way to go.
While my loyalty to WMC is growing due to it's continued reliability, I should warn you all I will ditch all of this in a hot minute the day Google Fiber trucks roll into my hood.

Welcome Nemesis
And sorry Pete, I didn't know you had replied and asked a question...I'm only 9 months late
...I don't know to be honest if there is a post about that but essentially Holidayboy, Mak and STC set this site up in the wake of Microsofts devastating Expert Forums migration...it was obvious that their forum was essentially dead (and indeed still is) and fortunately these guys had the foresight to create this place
Bizarrely, on the Expert Forums site, there are still a few sad deluded individuals who blame tgb.tv for the demise of the old site/forum, rather than placing the blame where is truly lies...Microsoft obviously. Some people... :O/

Hi guys, finally giving up on my cable tv and going with WMC7 for the first time to record my over-the-air channels I get from my townhomes bldg antenna.
Installed a Haupaugge 2250 dual tv tuner and with WMC7 everything works great, was up and running in like 15 minutes
WMC7 recording backend, XBMC12 media display frontend.

Hello everyone!
It has been on my mind since 06' to have a media center PC and Dish networks decision to dealings with AMC pushed me into a HDHomerun Prime with Wave Cable ( Northern California ) . I am in the process of building a new WMC PC from the ground up which is also my first PC build as well, so things should be interesting. Just a warning for everyone.... stupid questions are on there way!!!!

I was over at Tech support guy but one of the admins
decided to get an elitist attitude on me cause she didn't
like the way I typed my posts.
Hate when people get attitudes like that,so I left.
I have been lurking around here since it started anyway.

I would quote Micheal Bolton from the movie Office Space "I had my name before that no talent @#$ clown did"
lol but I don't mind Dave Matthews.. His acting is great too. Cool guy.

Thanks! My setup works well, but I'm bad about getting new ideas in my head for it.
By the way, I'm a big MCL fan, I've been using it almost as long as WMC.
