I just released version 8.9.1 of the WMC installer for Win8.1/10/11. This version is based on both 8.8.5 and v13 by @technodevotee to perhaps give a better experience along with a couple fixes needed that I didn't know about until earlier this month.

I am surprised no one has done this earlier, but I have created an MSI installation package for WMC 8.8.5. This package has a lot of benefits that we don't get from the zip package we have been using for quite a while. I have it working without issue on Win10 and Win11 for ATSC. You can download it...

It's been my understanding that Windows 10 (1511) was the last version of Windows that had all the necessary components to record and playback protected content.
Those that use that version use StopUpdates10 to lock it down.

The problem came back and I never figured it out until just now. I finally fixed it by replacing my old nvidia 1050ti video card with an AMD RX 580. The 1050 ti worked fine in every other situation, so I guess it must have just been some strange interaction between WMC and my specific video card.

If I let my computer sleep while WMC is on, on wake-up about half the time the screen will be blank and remote is unresponsive. Most of the time, I can hit the windows key and kill WMC, then everything is normal.

I guess I should note... if you are using WMC in Win10 for OTA, you don't need PlayReady at all. PlayReady is only for CableCARD users in the USA, and then you can only use CableCARDs on Win10 1511 or older.
