mcupdate.exe -uf warning

For those that use mcupdate.exe with the -uf switch, be aware that if you have increased your tuner limit above 4, running this command will reset the limit back to 4. The -uf switch is a forced update of all WMC packages and evidently 1 of them overwrites the tv setup parameters to the original...

Also, I saw a weird 4-minute episode of Grey's Anatomy at 12:03am on Friday 3/16. Rovi appears to be screwed up.
This was legit. I use EPG123 and got this episode recorded. It was actually just a preview of the Grey's Anatomy spinoff, Station 19.

I am finding that my prime time network/cable line up shows are not recording correctly, and looking at the upcoming shows, I have at least 5-7 per week that show the wrong original air date , causing them to flag as reruns and not be recorded. This has been going on for months now and seems to be getting worse. I set up all my shows in TV Time so I can see what's coming on every night and make sure it's getting recorded.

For some reason today my Comedy Central schedule seems to be off. For example, according to WMC, The Daily Show (normally 11:00 ET) is now on at 11:34 ET. Tomorrow's Tosh.0 block (8:00 ET) starts at 6:00. Saturday afternoon's airing of Pitch Perfect starts at 12:49 ET instead of 2:50ET.

There is a new thread opened for Guide Outages for 2018 - I sent an email to Rovi asking them to contact Microsoft and fix this. Microsoft ended the Microsoft Connect forums so we can't initiate tickets for these outages with Microsoft any more.

Am I alone .. my guide data and the preview pictures are just garbage and totally unrelated..
This has been a problem for a long while now the preview pics for movies use to sometimes be unrelated to the movie

if someone here gets the milwaukkee area over the air tv could you check to see if 21.1 now shows the guide for revn tv, not pbs. and 36.2 was missing now supposed to be present and show pbs programming.
i have been working with rovi to get these channels fixed. they told me almost two weeks ago...

ok, it looks like no fix. 21.1 revn tv is all cars, motorcycles and some boats for programming. the 36.2 pbs is public television.
i use titantv.com to cross check. or just plug in a regular tv scan the channels and compare.
i will email rovi back and tell them no joy.

From glorp: Here is a thread with some of the mcupdate switches. -dbgc (db garbage collection) deletes old schedule data from the database and compresses so I thought it might have a shot at repairing or restarting guide, whatever. Just not sure...

Hi All - Running into a strange problem with WMC on Windows 7. Lately a lot of my shows that I am recording are not able to detect the season or episode number, only picking up the title of the show. Is this something to do with the guide?

Comcast has made a wholesale change of all its HD channels here in Nashville. As of yesterday, my EPG now only shows SD channels and about 5 HD channels. What's my next step to get this fixed? TIA

Hi all, my cable company is Midco. A couple days ago they renumbered their channel lineup. I use a CableCard with a HDHomeRun Prime. I can run a channel scan on the HDHR web page or the HDHR app and it shows everything in the new (correct) assignments. But WMC7 is still showing the old channel...

Tomorrow's episodes of these shows (11/9/17) are both listed as repeats and depending on your series settings, may not record. The original air date is a week ago and I'm pretty sure the episode descriptions are new and werent broadcast last week.

The quality of Gracenote (the source of data provided through Schedules Direct and used by EPG123) is much better when it comes to OAD in particular. Plus EPG123 has the ability to force the OAD to be the air date for shows that have the NEW flag in the source.

Are the channels mapped to the correct listings? You can Edit Channel and then Edit Listings to see (and change) the listing that is assigned to each channel. You can compare things between your working system and the non-working one.

just information, I live in Fishers, Indiana (just north of Indianapolis) and our comcast lineup changed today. LOTS of channels not just a few.
I already notified Schedules direct for those using EPG123 like myself. I'm guessing this would be a nationwide channel number change, not just local.

Cox Omaha, missing data past 10/23. This is affecting my WMC as well as my parents. I'm not really seeing it discussed like the outage this summer but it behaves similarly. If I change zip code and let the guide load it fills in. I then switch back to my zip code and some of the channels updated...

Saw the FIOS NBC channel post and I have exactly the same issue with Comcast. On 12/31/16, NBC moved from 807 to 810 but the EPG still shows Telemondo programming on 810. 807 correctly shows 807 programming as a local Boston all news station. I am missing a single channel in the guide and cannot add it manually. How do I go about reporting this to Microsoft or Rovi? It is a relatively new channel for my provider, but isn't brand new. I tried running signal setup again, but no cigars.

You can send an email to lineup@tivo.com with your zip code, lineup name, and the channel that needs to be added.
I've had success sending to that address in the past as well as to metadatasupport@tivo.com for corrections to individual program listings.
