Initial setup guide issue with DUAL

I'm not very familiar with the ATSC setup in comparison to CableCARD setup in WMC. I have a friend of mine that I gave my backup HTPC so he could have an OTA setup in Phoenix.
Well long story short the motherboard died in the PC so a new one was installed and Windows 7 had to be reinstalled. Going...

I dont think this issue has anything to do with the tuners.
There is a very serious issue going on with Microsoft's guide servers right now. It seems to be luck of the draw as to whether the guide downloads or not. Most likely this is the problem.

This is likely addressed somewhere in the owner's thread, but I couldn't find it after scanning virtually every page ....
I have 2 HDHomeRun Primes that I set up to use with WMC on my main Windows 7 HTPC. They work perfectly.
In the pairing process I had to provide the Host ID from WMC while...

The pairing process just pairs that cablecard to that tuner. It is not tied to the PC at all. Yes you can connect multiple PCs to one tuner, just skip over the paring screen.

Have Ceton ETH6 for 2 years. Adding more tuners. Price of HDHR Prime is really good right now. Can get second cable card from Comcast for only $1.50/mo. 12 tuners !! I'm not surprised the Gb network doesn't have a problem with that. Do you record to a RAID-0 array? Or perhaps an SSD?
I'd think the disk activity with 12 streams (plus perhaps 5 active extenders) would be more than a single drive could keep up with.

So if my cable card is paired and working fine with a Ceton device and I take it out of the Ceton device and put it into a Silicon Prime, does it have to be re-paired? I don't know if it's the card that is being paired, the box that is being paired or the card TO the box that is being paired.

Fair enough, and to be honest I'm on Comcast and have no XP with Cox but the number Ceton gave for Comcast's cable card line worked perfectly for me so hopefully cox number will do the same thing for you.

I power cycled the PC and Prime and reseated the cablecard and all three tuners checked out ok.

I mean, seriously. I love the idea; 8 OTA tuners. But I see what they did there; four seemingly independent 2-tuner setups in a rack mount.
What else is in that package to make it cost WAY more than 4x a Dual?
Last post
It only costs $2000 if you don't shop around. I found them for $1600 on NewEgg.
I suspect the price is set by supply and demand.
