Setting up the MCML verifier
by

Copy Microsoft.MediaCenter.UI.dll to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Media Center\v6.0\Tools” so McmlVerifier.exe can find the assembly. If the project uses resources from ehres.dll, copy it to the same location.

I like to tinker around quite a bit and I took it upon myself to make a project out of building the WMC sample apps in the stock form with no content just for learning experience. I've successfully built the Z sample app so far but I ran into trouble while building Q. Specifically the...

I haven't been able to obtain an older version of MS Visual Studio but, I do have a full version MSVS 2015, on one machine, and the freeware version of 2017 on another. By default, these use the latest version of .net, and I have been able to change this to .net 2.0 in most cases however, I would...

Dear all :)
I'm the designer of a WMC skin for MediaPortal 2. The design and navigation are mostly oriented to the original WMC, but there are lot of new features existing.

We need developers, designer and tester for our project. First group is most important, mainly #C, xaml and in best case DirectX knowledge is required, because we'll switch the skin engine to DX11.
But also testers ar very welcome, many changes need a lot and careful checks :) Please PM me in case...

Hey all,
As people who follow me know, I have given up on Media Center studio, even on Windows 7... :(
I started playing with Patchou's awesome Media Center Themer and was able to inport a lot of my old themes and now with MCT Tools, I can have a nice little gui to select a theme and it changes....

i agree. I have about 50 or so themes collected over the years and yes adding them to WMC with MCtoolbox does work (cept UAC), with a Themes menu strip and it does have an icon image....but scrolling through them is a lot. Yes you can put them in the extras folder with relaunch, but both ways do...

I have been looking for any information I can find on MCML, and I found this blog but the link to the lab is dead. Does anyone have this lab or something like it?

I've seen a few blog posts around about it also but not much overall. The SDK includes two sample programs but I'm not sure that I could just go in and tweak those, and expect them to work.

I guess that makes sense - Windows Media Player doesn't support RTMP so there's no reason WMC would.

Yes, you can do that with EventGhost... but you didn't answer my question. Pressing the zero key should not cause it to jump forward 60 seconds. If that's what is happening now, then please answer my questions from my previous post.

Hi everyone,

Hi!
I ahve a very strange issue. My app looks pretty much like the movie gallery in WMC, at the top I have a pivot that selects categories and below I have a scroller/repeater for the galleryitems.
My problem is when there is only 1 or 2 items in the gallery. I dont know how WMC handles repeaters...

I solved this with a timer and a command. There is still a problem with focus animations that run when focus is shifted programmatically... but the big problem is solved... costed me wayyyyy too many hours.

Hey!
First, I did manage to solve this, so it now works correctly according to standard WMC details slide deck. The solution was a LOT of MCML code with panels, commands, parameters and timers that controlled the movement of the focus and prevented navigation that would break the flow.
