Just received a letter that my international (TV5) channel will no longer be available with my current equipment . I am using a Ceton tuner with CableCard.
They ask me to upgrade to an Xfinity box. Does this mean that Xfinity is slowly moving away from QAM/CableCard support? I am assuming Tivo...

I agree, IP seems the way to go. But I have not bought into the Xfinity boxes...
Would be nice to have a Xfinity app on Roku that works

It was about 8 years ago when a co-worker turned me on to WM7. Today, I pulled the CableCard out of my trusty HDHRPrime and asked Spectrum to pair it to the new TiVo Edge we purchased as a home DVR replacement.
It's been an interesting ride, and WMC served its purpose for us. There were a lot of...

Hi all,
I just purchased a new Tivo system and all the parts to modify it to have 4TB of storage... and I looked on ebay to see how much I can sell my PRIME tuners.
I'm shocked! They're going for as much as I paid for them new. It looks like the average sales price was between $135-150. Are they...

I'm a guy who's been there done that with the guide outage thing; I hit my tolerance limit awhile back when it got to 3 days left of guide with no end in sight, and that made me jump to EPG123. (Of course, the moment I did that MS fixed the guide.)
I'm curious, with the guide service outage going...

I will say this that once i made the switch to EPG123 i have not looked back and my WMC7 system is kicking it in high gear. The only downside is that since the switch my HTPC (with emby for movies) now operates so much like an appliance that i don't find my self needing to tinker with the system...

Just thinking ahead
If Microsoft ends guide data what are our option to still DVR with our tuners and PC's.
I know we can get a sub for EPG123 to get guide data in WMC that is one option to keep a WMC DVR running.
What are some other options and what is needed to be able to DVR shows maybe with...

I couldn't install windows no matter what I tried but found this and it worked. This actually prepares your new disk for use, then copies all of the installation files to the new disc from a DVD via the command line in Windows repair.

When I did this with Windows 10 it setup a uefi install on its own but I wonder if there is a way to tell it to install with MBR/BIOS instead.
