Hello, when i reboot my media center work well. i can close mediaccenter and push greenbutton on media center controller everything work well. but if i wait 2-3 minutes green button work only when media center is launch.
Any ideas ?

Can you see the Media Center Tray Applet in the taskbar all the time or does it disappear after a while?
If it disappears, it may be that the startup shortcut is missing or disabled.
Alhough WMC kicks off the process, it gets shut down after a while.
However the green button on the remote needs...

I'm currently in the process of updating my systems from Windows 10 to 11. At the same time, I'll need to re-install WMC which was originally installed from the old 8.8.5 zip files. I'd like to migrate to the .MSI for easier upkeep. What would be the best procedure here?

That's good to know for the future. So while it was not necessary at all, it also wouldn't hurt anything as it would be rebuilding the database with the one that was just restored.

Its nice to go to ONE spot to get info with others you trust on here.
My Question was is Win11 WMC solid that you can walk away from like WMC on 7 ? Which is the best ! I am being forced out with my old machine :(

If that's not the case, and Cablecard does work in 10/11 just not for PlayOnce DRM protected channels, I'd love to know that. I'm in the same boat -- really don't want to run Windows 7 anymore, but I'm on cablecard but without any DRM protected channels. It's just for access control.

I'm afraid not. Everything to do with extenders they broke in Windows 10 is still broken in Windows 11.
