Guide setup wont download all listings

Wow has microsoft dropped the ball with media center! So many problems this year, about ready to send the whole system up in flames. the time i will never get back from screwing with this system. seems every other day a guide wont work or an extender will keep freezing or disconnecting. This used to be a very reliable system. rant over.

So i live in an area where i can get channels from two different guide areas. There is not a zip code i can find that will load both sioux falls, sd listings along with mankato, mn listings. awhile back i found a hack with getting two different guide listings loaded. https://pnear.wordpress.com/2011/04/29/ ... -center-2/

all was well until my whole system took a one day last week.

i can finally setup my extenders again but my guide listings for channel 12 from mankato will not load. i can change the guide lisings back to channel 12 listings from sioux falls OTA and still pull in tv but the guide data is all wrong.

iv re setup tv signal more times than id like to admit.
What was wrong with guide data automatically pulling in for what ever channels are detected through tuner?

listing ids:
309943186 -Mankato/Minneapolis OTA Antenna
309879214 - Sioux Falls

help please
i have no idea what to do next short of starting a fire.

I was just looking around for the post on how to blend 2 different guide areas using GuideTool. Anyway this guy was up in the mountains somewhere and he had a couple antenna's pointed different directions, and he somehow blended the 2 sets of channels into one guide. I want to say he was in Utah, but I'm not sure.

Bad news.....cant find the post

Im getting a 403 Forbidden when I go to this link http://1geek1tool.com/guidetool/ Let me know if you cant get in, Ill zip up my copy and post it here.

Maybe you will have some luck.

Here is a similar post using LineupSelector, that hack you all ready have, and guide tool to merge 2 different lineups.

"merge 2 lineups" is the search string you want to use, and the task you want to perform.

Have a look at guide editor also.

I went to http://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/tv-listings and entered mankato's zip. It shows there are two OTA lineups available, Mankato and Mankato/minneapolis. I'm not familiar with the local stations but it looks like the Mankato/Minneapolis lineup has mostly Minneapolis stations and the Mankato lineup has stations from both Sioux Falls and Minneapolis.

If you dont see the Mankato lineup when you set up TV, that's an issue with Microsoft and needs to be taken up with them.

If you do have both lineups, and their both incomplete, perhaps merging the two with the LineupSelector tool that Crash mentioned is enough to get you a complete guide.

So how do you run that?

Select Sioux Falls, Select Minneapolis, Click Merge? Does LineupSelector make the changes in WMC? or Do you still need GuideTool to actually get the changes into WMC? Does GuideTool do the merging? I have zero experience with OTA, but have taken an interest in it lately. Thanks for your help.

When you set up tv, you pick a line up. That becomes the lineup used by WMC. You run LineupSelector and then select the other city to sync into the WMCguide. Thats it. When you next open WMC, both lineups will be there in a combined guide. But this only works if you have both lineups available to you at TV setup time so you can merge them.

It appears that I have the opposite problem. I think I need to remove Detroit OTA from my HDHR CableCard tuner setup. How do I do that?

Here is the post where I suspect Detroit OTA is confusing my guide. #485 and #491
