Script to Disable Channels

I want to get rid of all the useless channels in my EPG. I can do this manually, but my version of WMC is not real stable and if I have to reset the TV signal, I loose all of my EPG modifications. Can anyone point me to a method to automate disabling channels in the EPG? I would think something along the lines of a script that can activate the Tasks / Guide / Disable Channel sequence. All I need is one example and I think I can automate the process via VBScripts. Thanks for any help.
