iOS 9 Beta -- App will not open

#1

Post by jasonacg » Tue Aug 04, 2015 7:12 pm

Moderator Note: Ceton are working on the fixes. More here: http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... =63&t=9274

I registered for the public beta of iOS9 for my iPad Mini. Since installing it, My Media Center will not open. It instantly force-closes.

Is there any word on whether or not this app will continue to be supported in iOS9?

Thanks.

IOS 9 is out and 9.1 is in beta. MY MC for IOS is broken and probably dead (my opinion) as this app has not been updated since 2013. That's sad. I used this app a lot.

motz the main dev for MMC left Ceton around that time. The way to contact Ceton now is by ticket on their website. Even though MMC support does not have an official ticket link, make a spoof one through Echo or Infini. Their product is for sale therefore you need a way of contacting them for support. They will not like me suggesting it but they don't appear to frequent here any more which is a big shame. I think they can keep this going and will want to as it's still in the App Store they just have to tweak a bit.

This was the response I got when I opened a ticket on the Ceton website - "Sorry, we do not have any information regarding My Media Center. This is InfiniTV support only. -- Ceton Support"

Anyone have a contact. Is Eric at Ceton (erkotz) still around?

Yeah that's a poor response I wasn't expecting that. Ask them to pass your request on. They can't deny doing that hopefully.

Most of the Ceton crew have Twitter accounts I think there is also a generic Ceton Twitter account too. Those are other avenues you could try.

I like how their support page says support for MMC is handled here :)

That's a terrible response. Hope someone more useful shows up soon.

FYI erkotz hasn't been on this site for quite some time so I doubt he'll read this thread.

I have made this topic a sticky to help warn IOS users. 9.x is out very soon.....

New computer. I just did a fresh install of MMC services and the iOS app on my iPhone with iOS 9.0 is working just fine.

Perhaps you need to reinstall on both the services and client side.

An uninstall and reinstall of MMC has been known to fix other issues in the past, with the app.

I removed my MC and reinstalled on ios 9 release and it still does not work. I don't see the point in doing the same on the service since the app is not even loading enough to try to connect.

Reinstalling the app didn't work here either. I'm not at home, so it couldn't connect to my server, but as mentioned above that shouldn't matter - it should just say it can't find my HTPC. For what it's worth, I'm using the 5S, I'll have to try an iPad tonight.

Ex Ceton employee Motz who is the MMC creator replied to me and said he doesn't think it will work properly without some changes and tweaks.

I appreciate the reply very much, thanks James!

It's working ok on both my iPhone and my iPad Mini , both with iOS 9.

I'll throw my hat in the ring - iOS 9 on iPhone 6, MMC crashes upon startup. I've tried combinations of uninstalling/reinstalling the app, powering off/on the phone - no success
