Pictures, nice 16mp pictures for all wondering to see...

http://1drv.ms/1g8O0se

I dropped a quick ticket into Ceton on this, I am sure I will not get any support but, if they can direct me to what the product is and if they have a old driver sitting around that might work, cool.

At this point with testing, it's not looking good.

Ok, as I have tried a bunch of things, There was a support number, so I called them. And asked what driver did you use for it, he called me back (within 10 min) and told me they pulled it from a working machine. That is how it was tested.

So he offered me a full refund and will send me a return label for it. If kd6icz wants it for keepsake or to play with you need to contact me ASAP, or I will be shipping it back to the company.

I picked up an Infinitv 7 PCIe from another member here just a little while ago so the need or want to test this more is gone for me.

Ok, I'll be sending it back to the company I ordered it from tomorrow, so if you change your mind, let me know...if anyone else wants this to play with, as long as I get exactly what I put into it, I will offer it to them.

Nice, it for sure is a Prototype card....

I had a ticket open with Ceton with this and this is the reply.

Hi David,
The item you have posted a photo of is not a production Ceton card. This is a prototype which was never sold and has no current support. It also does not have 6 tuners and is missing pieces. This is absolutely and totally unsupported and current firmware is unlikely to work.

-Ceton Support

Here is a conformation that it's a Prototype card but, it's missing parts. So I will ship it back to the seller and get my money back on it.

It was fairly quick too, under 12 hours, back in the hay day, when WMC was alive, it could take 2-3 days to get a reply to issues.

As a company who has a nice product, that I am sure they invested a good amount of change into, I bet they have something on the table they are working on. Will a good company just let them selves die ? It will be interesting to see but, they need to do something or they will just fade off.

Well, the package has been shipped back to the seller, I am sure it will be just dumped (as with missing parts, it wont work anyway), It was interesting to check it and see, although it would of been cool to get it working, I am sure it would have tons of issues.

For sure interesting to check our and play with Prototype hardware, if this was a Microsoft Prototype it might be worth some money (early stuff) but, for a smaller company like Ceton, I don't see any major or minor value in a prototype. If this item was $1, maybe I would dump it in a box for the heck of it but, at almost $60, not worth it in my eyes.

Oh well...

Nope, a true one.... :)

http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... =21&t=9051

Truth be told, I was board that night and figured I would bid on that "prototype" for $51 and thought I would get out bid. And if it was a 6, then cool !

Playing it with it, sure the cablecard fit perfectly, and it connected to the board showing a "PCI device" complete or not, if I had a valid driver, I would bet it would work but, a 1, 2, 4 or 6 tuner, who knows...

So I was wondering....funny thing Ceton got back to me after I said I sent it back to the seller asking where I got it...

Hi David,

Where did you get this item? Who sold this to you? Please let us know.

Thank you,
Ceton Support

LOL, anyway, it's about 1/2 way to the seller now, I shipped it out yesterday. I should have my TRUE 6 on Monday to upgrade my 4...

Cisco makes a PKM908 which will decode 8 streams provided the headend has the proper operating system and support (and you have the proper number of tuners on your OCUR).
