I've been having an issue for about 2-3 weeks now where MP4 files (H264 and 2-Channel AAC) will kill my 360 Extender session when I try to play (using Mediabrowser Classic). AVI and MKV (via Shark007) play fine.
The MP4s play fine locally and use the Microsoft MF splitter (I even tried uninstalling Shark). Any ideas - I really don't want to format the machine?
If I disable MF for MP4 they will play (transcode) on the extender.

I've seen a few post similar to this recently.
The common denominator in them is the use of the Handbake software to create the MP4's.
Is this your case also?

No, they were created with a bunch of programs - MeGUI, VideoReDo, and straight from the camera.

I think the key here is they are transcoding to the extender. Using MF it should try to play them natively. But the XBOX only supports up to a High 4.1 profile (officially @10Mbps, realistically up to ~15Mbps will work, but 4.2 or 5.0 profile will not).
