+1. My guess is it will peter out by June 1st, but who knows.

I note in a post over at SageTV's forums,
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthr ... stcount=55

"On Friday I sent "The Weather Network" support an email to confirm if the data feed is free and available for use again, and I'm still waiting for them to answer back."

So maybe if it's a mistake, at least maybe someone let them know...

For those who recently reported that HeatWave is working: is it still working? Just thought I would check before taking the time to re-install it.

As other confirm, still working. No one has a definitive answer on whether it will continue to work for the long term. If you like it, re-install it. Enjoy the ride.

Looks from here like weather.com figured themselves out, and Heatwave is gone again.

Now you're all going to have to lick your finger and stick it up in the air.

I would like to put a specific finger in the air and aim it in the general direction of weather.com.. Wish they would just stop fixing what isn't broken...lol

Just wondering what the feeling is on getting Heatwave working. I have taken a look at Heatwave and with some work it would be possible to get it working with another weather API. The main issue is that most free weather services restrict the number of requests that can be made per day - typically 500. The unrestricted APIs requires a subscription and it is this cost which has to be covered somehow. If we can get some discussion going around this, I'd be happy to look into getting Heatwave fixed.

Here is a suggestion:
A licensed version of Heatwave could be created, so the number of users can be tracked. Then the cost of the API could be covered by an annual subscription of say $10. If the number of users easily covers the API cost then the subscription could be reduced. Any suggestions welcome.
