It looks as though if your name is Mike or Michael you will get a current guide listing.

I did an update and finally got past 5:00PM (Arizona/MST/PDT) on Saturday... filled in the rest of Saturday but now it won't let me even advance into Sunday.

If one did, sure would like to know the comm channel that does work. If not, at least we know trying to contact them is futile.
When this same issue occurred this time last year, MS told us to contact them this way:

(full post: http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... &start=260 )

I have no idea what method actually worked this time.

When I rebooted the computer, the guide worked normally and I now can scroll into and past Sunday. What I found as odd was that when the guide had no data available prior to manually updating, I could scroll the 2 week with one week not having any data so I thought it as being off that I could no longer scroll into that time frame.

MS just asked me if this was resolved - it's looking to me like it is. Does anyone still see the issue?

It's been resolved (for now, or until Windows 10 is released) Eric.

Finally a guide update in SW Missouri. That said, these frequent guide issues have pushed me to the end of my rope. Time to look at other options.

This one did not work for me.

I could not figure where to leave any information. Clicking on it's links took me to places that did not seem relevant. It also said "To provide feedback to the team (bugs) use the feedback link to the left." But there were no links to the left.

I ran into that also, it's an poorly designed and confusing site.

Eric, I thank you for your assistance in resolving this issue. I do find it a little callous for MS to treat you as the spokesperson for the problem rather than coming to this or other forums and determining whether the issue was resolved. I don't care if they have a WMC team anymore or not. The company is being justly criticized in multiple public forums for neglecting a product without any explanation. One would think that they would want to determine the state of the issue in their customers minds and take some steps to indicate cure damage that may have occurred to their brand.

The easier thing Microsoft could do is just not fix it and let it go away. We clearly see it will not be included in the next windows version. They have zero resources allocated to this. So for me I don't care how they communicate it; just as long as I have the guide updated. Thanks again.

It may be just me, but I think there is an end of life issue for WMC after Windows 10 is released. I think Microsoft thru an update in Windows Update will kill WMC in all versions of windows (they did that with media streaming in WMC from the big TV networks like CBS an few years back), so don't have automatic updates enabled in any WMC machines so you can review them before installing. :(

Guide update working as of this afternoon here in Millgrove Ontario, CAN.
Thank you Eric for your time and effort. Glad that the Guide Download is work again. I came here last year when the Guide failed to load and did the host change bit to get it working again. Have been a frequent lurker of this forum for the past 5 years. Guess it's about time I struck my head through the door and said "Hello".

Actually, changes like that (the Internet TV, and the Sports Bar) are managed by Microsoft though the mcupdate process... not through Windows Update. They can push promos onto your home screen, and taketh away, regardless of your Windows Update settings. Those mentioned items disappeared from my home screens, even though like you I have disabled automatic updates.

What I would like to see is an easy to set up 64-bit WMC only operating system (similar to the 'Windows Home Server' operating system Microsoft had), without any of the unnecessary features that an full operating system has (that can possibly mess things up) and perhaps add more streaming services that an full operating system has and that is always supported 24 hours an day-365 days an year. Not like this mess we had the last week with the guide service going down. About that guide service, maybe another source could provide the guide service or maybe get the guide directly from Zap2it instead of going thru Microsoft's servers. And yes I do know that some of the streaming services just might be redundant because of todays SMART TV's, but so are the streaming services on todays Blu-Ray players.
