I've got one. It's a pretty solid remote except for no back lit keys, so until you learn the remote it's a bitch in the dark.

Is there a 300 and a 300i model? or is there just one model? I saw some on eBay tonight for like 16 pounds with free postage that is so cheap, they are normally like 30 pounds or more. I was thinking of maybe snapping one up for the children's bedroom that has a Linksys DMA 2100 / Denon Stereo and small wall mounted HDTV.

The 300 only has support for one activity (WIKI), that's no good then, I guess that's why they are so cheap.
I might be better off with a Harmony 510/515 or 520/525.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the "activity" functions. Quite frankly I have no use for them at this time. I don't even use the one activity that I have programmed into the remote.

So does the 300i have support for more than one activity? Is that the only difference between the 300 & 300i?

I saw both in the store when I bought my 300i, tbh no difference. One is glossy one isn't. 300i is just a rebranded 300.

Thanks for the replies.. I have a harmony one and the button layout seems similar so I think I might check out the 300.. Just wish it was backlit..

I also use the Microsoft Media Center Wireless Keyboard:

How does that keyboard work out for you? I have an Inland brand wireless mouse and keyboard, the mouse works fine, but the keyboard is a pain in the . You have to be right in front of the pc for it to work half way descent. I was thinking I might need a blue tooth keyboard, but they are expensive for as little as I would us it.

I've got one of those MCE XP keyboards pictured above, they are not very good as they are IR and the mouse is a nightmare to control with it. I wouldn't recommend it for daily usage. However I couldn't live without it for programming and teaching my Logitech Harmony remote controls several different keyboard commands to do stuff like launching 3rd party MCE add-ins with AutoHotkey.

I'd highly recommend a Logitech Dinovo Mini Bluetooth Media Center keyboard / mouse

The other thing I use is on my iPod Touch it a free iOS app + server software also from Logitech called Logitech Touch Mouse

Pretty much what CW-Kid said. It's fine for what I use it for (logging in, Windows Update, hot-key macro for changing displays). Beyond that, it just sits on the table collecting dust.

Ditto. It's okay for temporary use, but not if you're going to be hard core on it. The mouse is terrible. Mine lives in a drawer now and only comes out for Simulator X on the big screen together with a bluetooth mouse, and flight stick.

If the Logitech Dinovo Mini is too much money, I can recommend an Adesso keyboard like this one here, I have used these in the past and once you get use to the trackball I like them! RF as well so much better range than the IR MCE keyboard.

Funny thing is, I have one of those Adesso keyboards as well. The one I have, though the key-mapping is messed up. If I type "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" what actually comes out is "abcdefg45-ijk67890stuv0123". Pressing FN+NumLock corrects this issue, but as soon as the keyboard goes to sleep (to save batteries), it reverts back.

OMFG that ruddy MS keyboard... I hated it so much, but I really enjoyed smashing the POS into many, many little pieces once I bought a decent replacement!!!! :d

Ok well I bought a 300i Harmony remote for the bedroom setup. Works great with my DMA-2100. The button layout is similar to my harmony one so it was easy to use right out of the box for me. For a $40.00 remote these are great. Well worth the money.

Anyone know if the Harmony 300 can be programmed to execute the HDMIOn utility? Trying to figure out how to programm the remote to launch this via one of the buttons on my Harmony 300.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
