How do I configure the type of TV in WMC?

whats the task for telling MC what type of TV and its connection

the few times I've setup W7MC there was a option in tasks that asked what type of TV flat panel or regular how was connected HDMI, and how many speakers you have ect.

I can't find this task anymore please advice step by step where this setup for TV is.

my HTPC screen res is set at 800x600 and I don't see a way to set it to where it should be 1920x1080 I think this is creating a video error.

I don't have an answer for you as it should be after tv signal
You could try turning off wmc in installed programs by turning the feature off and rebooting then turning it back on but then I think you will have to setup again.

Tasks > Settings > General > Windows Media Center Setup > Configure Your TV or Monitor.

IIRC, certain setup options are only available if other setup options have been executed. I'm not sure if the display configuration is one of those things.

By the way, if you have a TV you want to configure it as a TV and NOT a flat panel. Configuring as a flat panel will add overscan to the picture. See this link for more information....

I had a video error problem that was just resolved w/ Lee's advice to reinstall the MOBO graphis drivers I installed now I have this Configure your TV or monitor option

the TVs resolution is now where I want it at 1920x1080

bad news is I still have the slite white vertical line on the right side of TV sometimes it's a complete line from top to bottom other times its only a couple inches (I have gotton used to it).

is it advicable to configure the TV w/ this W7MC option? I certainly don't want any overscan.
TV is a 58"Samsung 1080 plazma.

That line is extra data incorporated into the tv signal by broadcasters. (it's usually on the left hand side though, so this could be a different issue). It's why TV's typically had some sort of overscan built into them and why most default to overscan rather than a 1:1 pixel mapping. I rarely see it but it could be that the channels you are watching are not ones that I watch.
