Guide Download Issues Thread - January 2015
My WMC guide stops at 1/25 giving me only 10 days of data. It looks like my download succeeds but I'm not getting newer data. Is this working for others?

Same same. Guide listings end at 17:00 local on Sun 25 Jan.
"Update successful;" no errors on update except "The NetworkMetadata package is not available."
Same with/without hosts/DNS hack. Same before/after TV setup rerun.
Comcast Xfinity - 87111 - Win 7 & 8.1

Cox Cable Las Vegas Windows 8.1 same thing guide hasn't been updated for a few days stops on 1/25. This has become a routine issue over the last year. For many years before I bought a windows 8.1 operated system, I never had this problem with Windows Media Center. Downloads are successful, but no new schedule is being downloaded.

Same here.
The *.enc file in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\Packages\EpgListings is being updated (has current date), but it apparently is not being populated with new data. I have guide data up to 1/25 at 7pm ET.

Same here in LA, for both TWC as well as OTA Terrestrial. Guide only goes to 1/25 10PM (although it shows "NO DATA" from 4PM out to 10PM), and has been that way for several days. Win7 WMC.
These situations have occurred a number of times in the past, and inevitably are eventually resolved with correct daily Guide updates working again well before the Guide data actually runs out. I'll be patient.

Same for Fort Collins Comcast Digital, 80528. Several days without new data. Opened a ticket at

Same issue here on Win 7 Ultimate. So Cal Verizon FIOS guide ends at 2pm on 1/25.

Will try to maintain a stiff upper lip, yet again. Guide End Date: 25 Jan 2015; Zap2it; Central California; over-the-air.DSperber wrote:...These situations have occurred a number of times in the past, and inevitably are eventually resolved with correct daily Guide updates working again well before the Guide data actually runs out. Same issue in Littleton Colorado. I assume this is just a coincidence, but my guide data stopped updating on Jan 13th, (resulting in data doing through Jan 25th), the same day Microsoft stopped some support for Windows 7.

I assume this is a coincidence, since while Windows 7 is end of "mainstream support", there's reports that guides aren't updating on Win8 systems either.
Am getting so tired of wondering where my next guide update is coming from...

That problem is long gone and unlikely to reoccur. There's no reason to keep trying the DNS workaround every time the guide stops updating.kleestark wrote:Same with/without hosts/DNS hack. Same before/after TV setup rerun.

Yes, and that is a major concern, but it is also not updating any existing guide data, so any changes to the existing listings will not be reflected in WMC.DSperber wrote:...

As an example:
Scorpion is swapping episodes next week;
Schedule in WMC:
1/18 10pm Forget Me Nots
1/19 9pm Charades
Correct, updated schedule:
1/18 10pm Charades
1/19 9pm Forget Me Nots
(be sure to pad the 1/18 episode since it is on after a football game)
I know this is minor and will not result in missing an episode (they are just swapping timeslots), but this is just an example, there may be other changes that will cause you to miss something.
I am trying to find an easy way to discover all of these changes so I can make manual adjustments to my recording schedule. Anyone know of good way to do this?
I am currently just going through the list here: http://thefutoncritic.com/news/ but it is probably not complete.

I'm not so sure the connect issue is "long gone", event logs for me still indicate sporadic "could not connect to remote" errors. Sporadic, so I have never implemented the hosts file hack. It has caused a download failure for a day, made up next day. This issue just appears to indicate guide file generation has stopped spinning on Microsoft's end.

Hello all - First time poster in this forum. I'm having a similar issue but in my case my guide downloads just fine but the guide information is not accurate. Some channels do show up correctly but most are not. I've tried searching this forum but couldn't find anything specific to my issue.
I'm running version Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center. My version of WMC is 6.3.9600.16384 and Windows Update is currently up to date. My WMC event log look clean as well (see below) showing that everything is able to download successfully. I'm using an HD Homerun Prime as my tuner and my service provider is Verizon FiOS and I live in the Boston, MA USA area.
What I've already tried doing is rerunning the guide setup (in WMC > Task > Settings > TV > TV Signal) multiple times and using different providers. I also tried using different zip codes near and far but the guide is not showing up accurately. I don't have the problem where the guide doesn't show any information. In my case all the information is populated but just the wrong! This is frustrating because it prevents me from being able to record anything. I've also tried reloading WMC but no luck there either. I believe the source is also Zap2It. If I reference Zap2It TV listing from the website the information is accurate but in WMC it's not.
Thank you all in advance for any suggestions that you may have.
