Guide download issue

#1

Post by bonsowonderdog » Tue Jan 06, 2015 12:58 pm

Howdy ho neighbours.

I'm in Australia, and since about beginning Dec 14 my guide had no content.

My tuners are working - I can rescan all channels, but the guide is completely blank, and every time I start WMC it gives me an error that it has "corrected" an error, but clearly it has not.

I have tired the DNS "mod" on another thread, I have rebooted and rescanned a billion times, and I'm out of ideas.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks so much,

BWD

You can try resetting Media Center through MediaCenterRecoveryTask
You can access it through the Task Scheduler or maybe command prompt as administrator
%SystemRoot%\ehome\mcupdate.exe -MediaCenterRecoveryTask
You'll have to completely setup Media Center from scratch,
Have to keep in mind if you have a lot of tweaks to MC you can have to redo them

Thank you - I will try that.

I have MyMovies add-in installed - will the reset require reinstallation of that, do you know?

No, in my experience Plugins are not effected by the recovery task.

Update - problem solved.

For some reason my system date had been set to 2002. Not sure how - maybe a flat battery or something.

Anyway, set it back to 2015 and the guide downloaded without problems.

Thanks for your help guys.
