Hi,
Been using WMC for years happily. Recently on a Windows 7 PC in the living room. Last 3 years been using a Linksys DMA2100 extender to stream to bedroom TV. However the DMA2100 crashes all the time and won't work with 1080p recordings. Getting to a point where I want to explore changing my setup to stream to different rooms and mobile devices.
I know I can use WMC alternatives out there like XBMC, Media Portal and Plex. I wanted to gauge what other people have done in similar situations? Live streaming would be nice in the bedroom but not critical, mainly use it to catch up on tv shows and movies.

The only other extenders currently being made are (1) Xbox 360 and (2) Ceton Echo. Both work.

Sounds like your DMA2100 issues may be network related since it should work fine with 1080p. A new extender would probably have the same problems.
I use Remote Potato for streaming to mobile devices. But Plex and MB3 should also work.
