Echo DOA
I purchased an Echo from Ceton through Amazon in December 2013. It sat in the box unopened until today.
Once the app was installed on my Win7 platform, I proceeded to connect the Echo to known good ethernet and HDMI ports, cables, etc.. Powering the Echo, its front panel illuminates, but there is no network connection indicated at the switch or HDMI signal detected by the screen. The Echo remote on/off displays its front panel logo on & off, but that's it.
It is unclear what its warranty position may be. My real question is should I just scrap it and get another XBox to add to the three I already have as extenders?

It has a one year warranty and they will probably replace it if you submit a support ticket, but you may be better off getting an Xbox anyway

I opened a ticket RRM-905-74036 stating my issue as in my original post and received what MUST be an automated response with instructions on downloading and running the ctnechorecovery.exe routine.
With that, it did connect and output:
Initializing Recovery Image.
Recovery Image Initialized.
Searching for Ceton Echo.
Found Ceton Echo.
Read MAC: 00:22:2c:90:16:32
Loading recovery image.
Recovery image loaded.
Check Echo HDMI Output for Recovery Status.
There is still NO front panel LED indication, no HDMI signal output and there is no network link indicated at the switch. This was added via email to my ticket yesterday with no further response. My expectation now is another irrelevant response about checking my HDMI and network devices and cables...

Did you try connecting the echo directly to your router? Also on post #3 here http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... 467#p35467 No picture was seen until after recovery. I did have a echo stop communicating over Ethernet but was able to get it back using recovery app. If you can't get it to communicate over Ethernet it's essentially unrecoverable.

Took another swing at the recovery tool with the only difference being using a USB 2.0 port.
The recovery tool "completed" as before.
1 - The monitor now displays "Connecting to Ceton..."
2 - Ethernet router now sees it and assigns an IP
3 - There are no front panel LEDs illuminated.
I have added a followup to my ticket and am leaving everything in this current state until either something occurs, or I hear otherwise.

I think you need to give Ceton support your MAC.

Did that yesterday.
It has gotten 1-step further, connecting to their server, but now Ceton is flashing on the Echo, no HDMI signal, no LEDs...
I have updated my ticket with all this and am now waiting again.

Just to close this out, I received a replacement Echo from Ceton yesterday and successfully added it to my system without any issues.
