x280n doesn't save settings?

I have a problem with my HP x280n. I set the wmc animations and sounds to off, but the device reverts back to default settings every time. It is very annoying. Has anyone seen this and have a recommendation?

That setting is actually stored on the PC, not in the extender. Have you changed anything in the Windows Registry lately?

No I have not. It's the same thing every time I turn it on and off it. It always asks me if I want to "View List" (Recorded Tv) and it always has sound and animations enabled. Also it doesn't remember where my last channel was set to. It always goes to channel 2.

Try uninstalling the extender. Turn off the extender and go to the PC. In Media Center go to the Tasks bar, and scroll over to Extender. You can uninstall it there. After it has been uninstalled, reboot for good measure, and then setup the extender again. I suspect that something in the NTUSER.DAT file for that MCX user is corrupt.

It looks like uninstalling it and adding it again did the trick! At least for now. Thanks for your help.
