Memory errors - W8MC

Intel NUC - i7 4250 / 8GB ram

I keep getting the error message about needing 64MB video memory. Its set to 512MB minimum in BIOS. I believe windows 8.1 is ignoring this and just accessing it directly. Is there a way inside windows to resolve this even if it means leaving a small 3d program minimized to the taskbar?

Do you have the most up to date drivers for the video?
It may be that it is running generic windows drivers and not accessing
the shared memory properly.
