I recently purchased a Chromecast as part of another project, and well its $35...
And I used an android app called Bubbleupnp to direct video sources to different renderers.
I was a bit surprised when the Ceton Echo showed up on the list of available renderers, so I tried playing some videos to it, and it worked.
Now, I am not saying, go buy $175 Ceton echo to use as a media player, when there are many other alternatives out there. And have not done extensive testing. But I was surprised, and thought it may be worth mentioning here, if nothing more, as a curiosity.
