I'm looking for a bit of guidance here. Is it possible to have Media Center display different/additional metadata for recorded tv? I'm basically looking to include the season and episode number but still retain the use of the default recorded tv menu. On another note, without starting another thread, I am trying to view a restricted registry key located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Recording
Anyone know how I can at the very least view this? Curiosity is getting the best of me.
Display different Recorded TV metadata?

To answer your first question, no, you can't do it without buying Recorded TV HD. It's an excellent product.
To answer your second question, run Regedit with admin rights (logon as an admin user, and right-click Regedit, and choose "Run as administrator").
EDIT: Scratch that. You'd have to take ownership of the key... and it's probably not a good idea for you to do that.
