I have one of those HP USB IR Receivers, and it has 2 3.5mm jacks on the back of it.
I was just wondering if this thing can also function as a repeater? I found a set of IR blasters, but I don't know if they are the right kind for this unit because it doesn't seem to do anything.
What I would like is to hide my HTPC and audio receiver in a cabinet, with the USB receiver beside the TV, with an IR blaster going back into the cabinet to send IR to the receiver.
I am starting to get the feeling that the blasters aren't going to simply repeat what the receiver sees.
My thought is that it must have come from a media center setup where there was some proprietary software designed to send channel changes to a cable box.
Anyone have any idea how I can make this work? I would love to use this receiver because it is CRAZY sensitive. I can aim my harmony remote at the back wall and it still works great.
Am I going to have to purchase a separate IR extender for this system?
