Missing channels on Comcast

#1

Post by drtdiver » Mon Feb 10, 2014 2:14 am

today i went to watch some of my local channels in hd and they are missing in the guide. the sd versions of the channels are still there but the hd counter parts are missing. i can open up the ceton diagnostic tool and tune to one of the channels and it says that it succeeded but i cant get to it in wmc because its not in the guide. i checked on the zap2it and the channels are missing from their guide. im thinking that zap2it screwed the pooch here and when my guide listings updated they got lost how do i go about fixing this until zap2it realizes what they have done and fixes it on their end.

I am with Comcast too, 48103. My local HD channels are OK. First thing I would do, is call Comcast and ask for a refresh signal. Make sure you call the CableCARD department. I have two numbers for them 1-800-934-6489 and 1-877-405-2298. I think the 877 number is for CableCARD.

The cableCARD already has the channels in the map. The problem is the guide. Aside from waiting for the guide to update you might try running TV setup again maybe with a close zip code that may have those channels.

Went in and changed to neighboring town with the same line up and everything shows up now. I sent a form off to zap2it I'll be watching to see if it gets fixed

Same thing happened to me once before... I looked in restore point and found a Windows Critical update had occurred earlier in that day. Restored to a point prior to that and the channels came back. Although it may be an issue with your cable card or the signal from provider there is always the possibility that it is an issue created by windows itself! (I currently run with windows update service disabled manually in services so don't see those kind of things anymore!)

It is a zap2it problem they have the same channels missing on their website for my zip. If I look at the listings for the next town over they are correct. I changed WMC to that zip since the lineup is the same.
