Netflix and Media Center going forward
Been watching a lot of Netflix on my PS3, and man, the experience is so much better than Media Center it's not even funny. SuperHD . . . better controls . . . nicer interface. Is development of the WMC Netflix app dead, or is there some way to get the new interface to run within it?

It's perfectly fine for my purposes. I'm watching TV, not saving the world or boiling the ocean or seeking nirvana.
Frankly, I'd turn off the entire TV thing before I'd start chasing after minutae.

Netflix in Media Center was better than Netflix in any of my other devices (Bluray players, smart TV, etc). However, now that I got a Roku 3, the Roku implementation of Netflix's interface is every bit as good as Media Center's, plus I get 5.1 audio, 1080p, ability to control subtitles, and most importantly.... stability. I won't miss Netflix on Media Center. In fact, I'm planning to uninstall it.

My crappy ISP implemented bandwidth caps recently, so 720p and no 5.1 is fine with me. 90% of the time it is for watching 3 year old girl's cartoons anyway!
Roku is definitely the way to go though, no dealing with 3rd party plugins breaking and/or Netflix no longer working. It's only a matter of time until it breaks for good in Media Center.

You can login to your Netflix account (in a browser) and set your maximum quality so that you can stay within your monthly cap.3rob3 wrote:My crappy ISP implemented bandwidth caps recently, so 720p and no 5.1 is fine with me. 90% of the time it is for watching 3 year old girl's cartoons anyway!
