As the OP is in Denmark, he won't be using CableCard. It is a good point to suspect the tuner though. Media Centre doesn't natively support DVB-C (unless this is an actual change in 8MC), so the Hauppauge tuner mentioned must be mapping the DVB-C signal over to DVB-T or -S, which Media Centre does understand. Something could be going wrong here.

As for what support you'll get for Media Centre... I hope you like fixing your own issues. According to the published product lifecycles, all versions of Media Centre, even back to XP at the moment, are still in their support window. However, the chance of any issue being deemed important enough to actually justify making a fix is virtually nil. The only kind of support we'll be seeing is if there is a security issue discovered that needs patching. I've seen a couple of them over the years, but on the whole Media Centre rides on the back of .net's security and patching.

I got black picture on the mce - i stille record on the channel, but only 1 out of 100 recordings there have been picture on the recordings, and that only on the half of the recorded.

I think Ceton should team up with Plex and include live TV, etc. Really I can care less about WMC just need ONE alternative that works decently. Even on windows 7 I had issues. Probably because the PC wasn't dedicated.

There is also an AMD technology onboard called Enduro, which automatically switches between the dGPU and the iGPU based on specific application requirements. I'm betting that the iGPU is being used for WMC, in which case the problem is the known incompatibility between MPEG-4 and Intel HD4000 graphics. You can easily test this by going into the Enduro Control Panel and editing the power settings to force the use of the dGPU. Here are the descriptions for the various power settings (obtained from here):

AFAIK that is not correct. I think maybe you're thinking of a similar issue that was resolved in the latest driver ("Resolved video black out while playing a content protected DVD"). But I'm running the latest driver and I still get a black screen with audio when I try to watch MPEG-4 channels/recordings.

It would have been really nice to know that before I built the latest PC! The thread I found on AVS Forum was about playing MP4 files (H.264) on the Intel HD4000. According to the thread, the problem was fixed with a driver on 3rd and 4th gen iGPU's. I also saw a post stating that confirmed MPEG-4 channels on a CableCARD worked on HD4000 with the new driver.

What version of Catalyst are you running? Looks like you need a minimum of version 12.9

Sorry for the late reply. I tested several recordings that I downloaded a long time ago. They were originally posted by several other users here in response to a thread about the ability of extenders to playback H.264 (MPEG-4) recorded TV. I played them on my new PC, with Intel HD4000 video, and they all played fine. I'm running the latest drivers from the Intel website, but I don't have the version number right now.
