Missing "Play DVD" Button?
I just installed a Xbox 360 to use as an extender on one of my WMC machines. Everything has worked better than I expected except for the missing "Play DVD" button. While dvd's do play, I have to wait for the WMC interface to boot up on the 360 and then put the disc in. The disc will auto-start and everything works fine.
On my main WMC computer there is a Play DVD button in the MOVIE strip. This is completely missing from the MOVIE strip on the 360 interface. Is there anyway to enable this? While not terrible, it is slightly annoying.

I rarely every use the xbox for dvd's, I usually use the blu-ray. I never even noticed that it is missing.

I don't think it plays in WMC on XBOX, it exits WMC and plays using XBOX DVD player. Then, when you eject, if you set your XBOX to auto boot into WMC, it will boot back into WMC, or stay in XBOX dashboard if auto boot into WMC was not enabled.aeblank wrote:I never knew a dvd would play in mc. Same with Linksys DMA 2200, too, by the way.

As has been answered already. It will only play in the Xbox 360 dvd player by default. I get around this by just ripping all my dvd's onto the main WMC machine and accessing the ripped dvd's and blu-rays via media browser on the 360 (courtesy of Transcode 360)
