Just upgraded my TV to a new Samsung 55" 4k. Yes, some say don't bother with 4k yet, but the extra few hundred $ was worth it to me. The picture is stunning.
Old TV connected via monitor cable and RCA jacks. I used a Y connector to send the analog audio to both the TV and receiver. I use the receiver to run speakers out around the pool, not for watching TV, so this way I could run the TV and/or the receiver as needed.
New TV of course connects with HDMI. Is there a way to have the audio sent to both HDMI and analog simultaneously?
Thanks for any suggestions...
Is there a way to output HDMI audio also over analog?

You might want to check out this thread http://www.avsforum.com/t/1253726/simul ... t-possible
It seems that it was possible in xp but windows canned the feature in later builds. In that thread there is talk about a couple hardware devices that may do what you need.

Bandook - That's an excellent thread on how audio is handled in Windows and HDMI and receivers. Thanks much for looking it up for me!bandook wrote:You might want to check out this thread http://www.avsforum.com/t/1253726/simul ... t-possible
