HP280N Network Discovery

#1

Post by JohnW248 » Tue Dec 17, 2013 11:33 pm

Here is a strange thing that happens with my HP280N extenders. There are four on my network and at certain intervals, they will all disappear from Network, Media Devices.

The only way to get them back is to power cycle each one and then reconnect. The interesting thing is even with them "missing" they will still work. So far I haven't logged them to see if it happens on a predictable schedule, but this post in effect will serve as an occurrence on Dec 17, 2013.

Anyone else notice this happening?

Yes they will still work, just disappear from network discovery. This seems to happen on maybe a two month or longer interval. Maybe a DHCP license renewal issue?

Of course there is nobody at HP that knows these exist and that goes back to when they were still in warranty as well.
