Slow guide response

I am having an issue with my media center guide. Occasionally, once or twice a night, when navigating the guide data the navigation is extremely slow and a single up or down button press will move the 30 channels. It will sometime also take a minute to open the guide itself.

Running windows 8, i3 ivy bridge, ssd HD, and 8gb of RAM.

Any thoughts on how to resolve the issue?

Also rebooting seems to have some positive results.
