Would a slow SSD cause response issues?

I had issues with WMC this weekend, so I did a reinstall, but before I did a reinstall I decided to run AS SSD on it to see what the overall result would be (which the results are below):

One issue I have always had with WMC has to do with response time when trying to schedule a series & even recording live tv. For example:

Config with 8 tuners (2 Centon infintv4 Pci)

1) About 95% of series respond back within 5 to 10 seconds, while the other 5 percent takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. This is from the time I say schedule to the time I see the red dots.
2) If I try recording a live show, I usually will see the red dots within 5 seconds
3) If I reboot, WMC will start recording about 15 minutes after coming back up (Usually it will start to record at the next 1/2 hr)

Config with more then 8 tuners:

1) About 60% of the show series respond back within 5 to 10 seconds. Other 40 % can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes
2) Recording live show was a toss up (if it would start within 5 seconds or 20 minutes)
3) After coming up from a reboot, shows would start to automatically record after about 3 hours.

Last week I picked up a HD HR prime from Newegg, which I was going to use for backup (configure it on a 2nd computer just in case) & I also ran AS SSD on another SSD, which the results was:

Since this drive rated in some areas higher, I figured I would try it, along with configuring 11 tuners to see if I had a better result, which part was good:

1) About 95% of the shows series took about5 to 10 seconds to record. The remaining 5 % took 30 seconds to a couple of minutes
2) Hitting record on live shows seemed to respond back in 5 to 10 seconds
3) After rebooting, WMC starts to record after 90 minutes

Based on these two different results (based on having 11 tuners configured), I would think that my OCZ drive was causing an issue with the slow response time (when scheduling a recording). I am wondering what you all think?

Also if you have an SSD configured in your HTPC , can you please tell me if its slower or faster or roughly same speed as the two drives I listed the bench marks for?

On thing I was tempted on trying was picking up a Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB which seems to bench practically twice as fast compared to the 2 SSD drives
