Both Newegg and Amazon have them at $129. Is this the new price or a sale?

I don't know if it is a sale or not, but it would be interesting to know how many of these things they still have in stock. Surely they are not ordering more from the manufacturer with the defective hardware design?

I wouldn't take one if it was free.

I am stuck with the investment for now. Each month that passes and it still works I consider it a win. Crossing fingers.

Well, with the recent conversations about cable companies changing to H.264, I've been curious as to whether or not my HP extenders would handle it. They handle H.264 BluRay rips better than the Echo. But, after testing an H.264 clip that glugglug recorded with his InfiniTV4 tuner, I found that they won't play his cable company's file at all. Must be something different in the way the cable company encodes theirs vs. the way I encoded mine.

So, I've recently ordered a new XBox 360 S to test (I chose the "S" for the optical audio output, as that's what I use in my bedroom). If it works well, and doesn't make too much noise, I'll be selling my HP and Linksys extenders and buying XBox 360 E's for the kids' rooms in order to cover myself for the eventual switch to H.264.

No, buddy. No BS. I don't want something that only causes me more frustration, no matter how cheap it is.
