Reboot InfiniTV 6ETH remotely?

#1

Post by woodchuck » Sat Sep 14, 2013 3:51 pm

Is it possible to initiate a reboot of the ETH6 via it's web interface or similar? I'm on the road and cannot "pull the plug". I am seeing an error in the diagnostics tool, and wanted to see if rebooting the ETH would help. Rebooting the HTPC did not.

I'm out right now but IIRC the PCIe has this feature?

Don't have a ETH but all the other tuners you can do this if you can get to the web gui, click on LOG and then at the bottom type in "REBOOT" and hit enter. You then need to close the web gui and wait a few seconds and re-open it and the update will be at a few seconds and the cableCARD will be rebooting. This will not restart a TA if your problems are TA related (and often are) and the TA needs a power cycle to re-establish up and downstream connections, load a new configuration file, channel map and authorize the resolver.

Thanks John for jogging my memory, that was how I did it in the past. No TA here.

I couldn't get this to work with the latest beta firmware.. It says commands are disabled.

try "reboot" in lower case. It should still be in our latest beta firmware.

FYI I'm not certain who/where the uppercase commands originated from, but the command has never been supported in upper-case in any firmware, so if you see that somewhere, it's wrong.
