Guide Discrepancies

#1

Post by cclark89 » Tue Sep 03, 2013 1:17 pm

Is the guide in the app compiled off the same guide data that my HTPC receives?

I keep encountering times where what the app says is on, isn't really on. Sometimes it is right, maybe 60/40

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Does your actual WMC guide on the HTPC show the same error, or it displays the correct currently playing show?

Ok. The Device in question is an Android. Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Running 4.1.1

Assuming my attachments are going to work, here should be a screenshot from WMC, and from the App. I'll have another post to follow showing the lineup for TBS for the evening on both the WMC and the App.

Here should be the second set.

The WMC guide is the one that is correct.

Let me know if I can take pictures or vids of anything else to help out.

Thanks,

They seem to be shifted an hour are your sure your time zones are correct on your device and on your WMC PC?

Basically what happens is that WMC gives us UTC time and then we convert it into local time based on your device settings. (which is not really how it should be done as really your PC should tell us the time zone, but it was architected like that long ago and is a bit too hard to change now)

I double and triple checked it.......they were the same.

Since this is a new tab for me and I only had 2 apps on it, I did a factory reset of the Tab, and reinstalled the Services on the HTPC....looks to be working now.

Thanks for the assist!

Maybe some sort of DST weirdness (DST set off an hour, and HW clock mis-set to compensate?)

Yeah that is what I was thinking as well. Strange in general, but glad it is working.
