I can't post links for some reason but Part 2 is up and says

While not a central topic of feedback, I received about 50 emails about Media Center. I want to reassure customers that Media Center will definitely be part of Windows 8. No doubt about it................

These numbers maybe don't mean much cos they are based on a figure of 400m Win7 licences sold @ July 2011 (but not all versions have MC) and the telemetry data in MC is 'Opt in' but hey I was bored and a bit drunk! So, based on the latest blog post

6% Launched MC = 24m
Of that 6%, 25% used it for more than 10 mins = 6m
If you're still reading this very inaccurate post, thanks and good night!

Sounds like media center will be in win 8 for sure. Quite a bit of info about percent of users that use media center

I am really curious what if any new features are added. They make it sound like new features are being added but then that comment isn't specific to Media Center.

Their metrics are their own fault. If it wasn't so damn hard to get live media into a PC it would perhaps get used more. People aren't going to launch it to do something they can do via a browser or media player. Most people have no really compelling reason to use it or even know it exists.

I for one am very excited about this. It tends to make be think we make get a nice new metro UI that could have kinect support (my own guess/hope). Happy days are here to stay with sage!!!! (Wait, I mean MediaCenter) lol

They could always pull a Drive Extender. Include it and then rip it out before release. They then decide they want to go back and focus on partners and only offer it to builders or in an embedded model.

Unfortunately I learned with WHS 2011 to wait for the final product.

I don't know, if there were a Windows 8 section, posts like these, and posts on pre-releases would be great in one place rather than in Win 7.

Thanks. This is an improvement that we didn't have on the origional green button when Windows 7 was being developed. Everything was scattered about in the Vista heading. I am liking this forum more and more every day.
