WMC does that with ATSC tuners too. I always assumed it was due to WMC creating a new Live TV buffer file.

Huh? I never get stuttering when a recording starts/ends. You must have a problem with your hardware.

It might help if you post your system specs.

I get it starting live TV, or starting a recording while watching live TV. It is like deja vu, the same 2-3 frames are shown twice, but only in live feed, not when playing back recorded TV file.

That should be more than sufficient. I wonder if there could be something wrong with the disk controller. Have you checked the Gigabyte website to make sure you have the latest chipset drivers?

I ended up getting a laptop cooler for the tuners like most people have done, and finally got my new computer going and the stuttering seems to be resolved. I'm pretty sure my old computer wasn't up to snuff, it was really old.

There does not seem to be an issue with the disc controller, and I am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" phylosophy.
If you have Windows explorer open in your "recorded TV" folder, and select to show hidden files, you can see buffer file being created in the temp folder when you start TV, and then when you start to record an already existing feed, the buffer file disappears and new fully visible file appears in recorded TV folder.
I just attributed the few frames of studder to the file deletetio/creation. Doesn't bother me in the least bit. It does not show up in recorded TV, only visible in the life feed, when you start to record live feed.
