Wake on static IP?

Wake on static IP?

This might sound daft to those in the know but if i have a static ip will i be able to wol my pc?
i realise im not on the local area network but being static does it help??

Using a static or dynamic address has no bearing on whether WoL will work.

It does if you're doing it from outside your LAN. In that case, just open the right port on your router. I use a couple of different apps and web pages to WOL from outside my home. All are pretty simple to set up.

Yeah, my router has an app that can even wake a PC from shutdown.

the N version is about £90 cheaper? whooaa.
