DVR-MS files on the Echo

#1

Post by stuppid » Thu Mar 21, 2013 8:07 pm

I have long been considering buying three echos for the house. My current set-up is HTPC in living room, Samsung media extender in the bedroom. I want to add an echo for the kitchen, the babies room, and the patio. I currently have all of my dvd's ripped to dvr-ms files to play on the samsung extender. They also play well on the WD TVlive I have currently on the patio. Has anyone had any issues with dvr-ms at all?

I was curious as to this as well as I have ripped all our DVD content to DVR-MS as well...

What is a Samsung Media Extender? I did not know that they were making one.

I thought Samsung (and HP) had released a few TV's with the extender capability built-in.... I know HP did, at least. Maybe Samsung's packaged with TVs, but still a separate unit?

A WMC extender? I had not heard of this but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

you haven't heard of it because it doesn't exist :-) We can hardly get standalone extenders... much less the built-in variety

The Samsung Model is Samsung MR00EA1. It is no longer in production and only works with certain Samsung TV sets. Works through HDMI-CEC.
