InfiniTV 4 USB Power

#1

Post by mldenison » Mon Mar 11, 2013 2:47 pm

Folks,

When my HTPC is powered off, does my InfiniTV 4 USB go into a reduced power state upon USB loss?

I currently have a small notebook cooling fan system, powered by USB, sitting on top of the unit. Temperatures went from 50 to 36. Of course, when the HTPC is shut down, so is the fan.

If the InfiniTV 4 USB remains on full power at shutdown, the temperature will again rise.

I'll shut the InfiniTV 4 USB down with a power sensing strip if I have to, but I'd rather not.

The InfiniTV powers off tuners when they are not in use, but this has no bearing if the PC is on or off. The InfiniTV is designed for 24x7 operation and there is no need to power it off.

I appreciate it. The unit is cool to the touch when the PC is off.
