I wrote those scripts and am glad to see that they are proving useful! I am jealous of these high SNR values over 38dB.
Just to let everyone know, the scripts only scan the frequencies available in the channel map provided to the cable card by your provider. It won't be able to measure all of your SDV channels. This is done for speed. There was/is a tool (DCT Diag) that just scans every possible channel (valid or not) but that takes a long time and used to cause stability issues. That tool may work with SDV.

Don't you see the username connection? And both WhatHappend accounts have the TGB badge (You might not be familiar with the original "TheGreenButton" site, which is basically the ancestor of these two sites prior to the Microsoft acquiring it). That is why some of us have 5+ Yrs badges here with a Joined date that is less than 2 Yrs ago.

And ur script made it possible to call the Cable Company and inform them that my signal was unacceptably weak. And request that they please fix it.WhatHappend wrote:Your results look great!
Thanks!
I can't say thanks enough, WhatHappend!
(i luv, erkotz, Paw Paw, and Crash2009 too, for stepping up and helping me. THANKS ALL! )

Glad everything worked out great for you. Lotta very smart people hanging out here. I've been rescued many times. I thought that since you liked WhatHappened's script so much, that maybe you might like to have another one. CetonTemps was given to me, when I first got here . I use CetonTemps primarily to watch my tuner temps, but it also keeps an eye on a few other things, one of which is signal strength.
See post #17 for the code, and #18 (first pic) shows a screencap of what CetonTemps will display for you. http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... 090#p23090

ur timeing, Crash2009, is like those Radio Shack salesmen. The salesmen in that new series of Radio Shack TV commercials where they know exactly when ppl are about to enter the store and wat they are there for.
So i just copy the code into notepad. Save as "CetonTemps.hta". Then run it?

CetonTemps.html is supposed to give you a report of Temp, Signal Level, SNR, Playback, Frequency, Modulation, Copy Protection, and Channel. Look over that whole CetonTemp post I sent you. The default tuner IP is supposed to be 192.168.200.1 If you don't get the full report, either you have to edit the IP in the code or change the IP in the card. This might be why your card is crapping out. Wrong IPBee_Dee_3_Dee wrote:k nvm i got it:

I noticed in your signal report your card is 192.168.180.1 John had me change mine back to default. I don't know enough about these things to walk you through it. Wait for someone that knows what they are doing before making changes.

OK, I saw only the temps and thought something was wrong. So your tuner is crapping out at times? We know it's not your signal and likely not your temps What error message do you get?

early today i started a long log called "PC Shutdownd Freezes.docx" .Crash2009 wrote:OK, I saw only the temps and thought something was wrong. So your tuner is crapping out at times? We know it's not your signal and likely not your temps What error message do you get?
my last entry:
4:24 PM
Freeze was right after an audio signal sound. Display was still showing a clean looking Colored desktop. This happened while watching Live TV in windowed mode. But only after watching for 6 minutes. Temps were no more than 55 C.
(Before trying my GTX295 I’m going to try restoring Backup images from 4:00 PM, 2-5-2013. That’s just before I installed my Ceton InfinTV for the first time.)
Edit 1: almost done reinstalling everything. (Including video card.) Hope it works so i don't have to watch Miami vs. Duke on my Galaxy Note.
Edit 2: (6:12 PM, Testing Live TV. 6:17 PM, Temps: 54.1 C. 6:22 PM, Temps: 54.3.)

(8:16 PM, Finished watching an entire Basketball game. Temps, 54.5 C. The only problem is when I pressed Stop after watching the game, Live TV Stops for about 2 seconds then restarts! 8:19 PM, ok it stop and did NOT restart all on its own. So everything is cool. But still seems odd that it will restart Live TV 2 seconds after stopping it.)

When I suggested CetonTemps to you I didn't realize that you were suspecting your temps. There is another bit of code that might suit your needs better. I havn't had the need to actually watch temps this closely so I haven't tried this one. But it looks like 2 thumbs up!
54 is getting up there. I am using 1 tuner right now, my temp is 46.3 My tuner is installed right beside a HD6770.

EDIT: Oh Yeah! This one is much better for Temps.

Oh Yeah. Get the PerfMon running and logging the way you want. Set WMC to record a bunch. Go to the bar for a couple hours, and see the results when you get back. There is a "Live" colored bar graph in there too if you want to watch it live.Bee_Dee_3_Dee wrote:awesome thanks.Crash2009 wrote:When I suggested CetonTemps to you I didn't realize that you were suspecting your temps. But first i noticed u have a Radeon HD 6770!
Cool! Because I just started using an HD4650 (XFX HD-465X-ZDF2) when i got my Ceton. But it has been BSODing a lot. I've never had anything but nVidia. (for gaming.)
With this HD4650, wat should and wat shouldn't i do as far as installing driver tricks and wat not to do(s). like things to keep enabled. and wat to disable in the AMD control center?
Tanks!
Edit 1: 9:22 PM, after dinner found that a BSOD had occurred and PC rebooted. It was caused by, “MODULE_NAME: atikmpag IMAGE_NAME: atikmpag.sys”.
