I followed some steps that was listed for Windows 7 on another site but that didn't work. Wondering if it's different for Windows 8

I basically had to put a switch to desktop mode shortcut and a media center
shortcut with the live TV switch in the startup folder.
Sometimes it starts up with the taskbar showing, but with my setup, hitting
a button on the remote focuses back on media center.
There are 2 different startup folder locations.
You would want to do a web search for windows 8 startup folder to locate instructions.
Either location works.

Definitely works for Windows 8? I just tried it and while the app seems to be saving settings it doesn't seem to be making any changes as WMC is still running the same

Im using Start8 and put WMC in the startup folder with "%windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe /mcesuperbar://tv?live=true" in the target.

So, on a fresh boot, WMC starts and goes right to live tv and the last channel being viewed. This works on windows 8 and 7

Thanks! That did it. I created a shortcut using Oblytile and Live TV launched right away.

Create a shortcut with this as target

%SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe /nostartupanimation /homepage:VideoFullscreen.xml /pushstartpage:true
