interesting. I think the re-branding was a smart move, but I'm really disappointed that there's no support for music in this release :-/

This is probably one of my most anticipated features (along with local/native movie metadata support). You just gotta keep telling yourself "good things come to those who wait". A lot of good that does; I know

great job on the name!
All I need now is a Slate so I can use the RT version. I already have the WP and Andriod versions. Updated nicely (so greater job on the apps).

I just updated my HTPC and my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy 4G). The Android app does not show all the movies that appear on my HTPC. I watched the old video on configuring the movie library, and I realized that I had to add the Recorded TV folder to the My Media Center configuration setting for movies (it was currently set to only look at my file server, not at my Recorded TV folder, which resides on a local drive on my HTPC). Now all is good.

Will this new interface be duplicated on the Echo extender?
EDIT: This is assuming Android on Echo is implemented, of course.

Seems like Music would be a separate app altogether. I expect for there to be lots of (hoping) music, pictures, movies, videos, etc. apps available for Windows 8 app stored to go along with the myriads of these available for other mobile platforms and tablets. I, for one, would prefer if Ceton remained focused around DVR, Live TV, and guide functionality.

Xbox music works perfectly with the remote now. And you can set it to open in my music... Still better editing your library in wmp tho!
