How does Companion control an Echo?

#1

Post by dhwinner » Sun Jan 06, 2013 6:51 pm

How do I configure my comapnion app to controll my Echo? (I actually have two set up) I have been able to set playback for a particular tile to play to an echo, but thats it. According to your procduct info page the companion can controll the Echo. Did I miss read? Would very much like to know how to do this. I've been looking in the forums, but havent been able to find an answer.

Please advise. Thanks

Press the remote button bottom right.
Once in, top right is a button to select which extender(s) or HTPC you want to control.

I will do a video on this soon, but yeah depending on the app version you will see the name of the device you are controlling, or a button that says select device:

Android: tap name in action bar or from menu press select device
WP: in app menu bring up ... and hit select device
iPhone/iPod: In top menu bar hit the name of device on the right
iPad: on bottom right you should see: Controlling: Then a button with the name of device, tap on that.

After you do this it will pop up a box asking what you would like to control.
