I'm completely underwhelmed by these so called "friendly names".

I have 2 Linksys Extenders. At some point I gave them each a name "Front Bedroom" and "Guest Bedroom". Every Windows machine on my network displays those names when I open the Network section in Windows Explorer. (They actually show up twice, as they are also advertise themselves for DLNA).

But when I open the MyMediaCenter app, I see something like MCX1-HTPC and MCX2-HTPC. HTPC already knows what the Extenders are called - it displays them as "Front Bedroom" and "Guest Bedroom".

If I rename the extenders in MMC, will all 3 devices that have the client installed see the same friendly name, or will I have to rename them on all 3 devices?
