Sony VGX-XL100 blank screen

Hi,
I have a problem with my Sony VGX-XL100 - the screen has gone blank on the TV and it make a beeping sound at start up, 1 long and 2 short beeps.
As far as I can see this is a graphics card problem, take the card out an the beeps stop & put it back in & the beeps are back.

I have tried 2 ASUS PCI-E graphics cards which other people with the same machine have recommended - both dont beep but no output via HDMI or VGA either. I had thought that the first card was fault but now that appears that it may not be the case.

Removed & reseated memory
Remove Tuner cards
Removed additonal disk drives

Running out of ideas & being that Christmas is around the corner it would be great to have the box working.

Any ideas what the problem could be.

MoBo/PCIe slot I would assume if multiple cards aren't working.

The original card has been confirmed as dead. I have not got it back yet but it looks like it didnt like the ASUS \ AMD cards but so a card with the same chipset as th original card is being obtained as it works with a standard VGA card.
